Our History

FG Burnett was founded in Aberdeen in 1960 by Frank Burnett upon his return to Scotland following several years working in the then state of Rhodesia.

Frank was old school – a model professional who took the utmost pride in everything he did. He was a tough but fair negotiator who took as much satisfaction in reporting to clients that his rival’s proposal was fair and reasonable, and eminently supportable, as he did in securing a more favourable deal for himself.

Today, FG Burnett is a limited company with offices in both Glasgow and Aberdeen. It is also a very different company in its shape and form, having grown on the back of a vibrant economy in the north-east of Scotland over the past four decades.

However, it is still a company that holds true to Frank’s original ethos – his enduring belief in the value of honesty and hard endeavour, and his recognition that the desire to succeed should always be balanced by a sense of fair play.

It is on these cornerstones that the reputation of FG Burnett has been built – and it is the same values and beliefs that will underpin our approach to business as we seek to secure further success in the years to come.
