Esson Properties secure Tesco in Glasgow City Centre

Esson Properties have let a further Unit within their prestigious 100 Queen Street office and retail scheme. Tesco have taken a ground floor and basement unit extending to 4,713 sq.ft on the basis of a new 15 year lease. FG Burnett acted on behalf of the landlord.

Hunter Esson, Managing Director at Esson Properties commented: “We are delighted to add Tesco to a fine tenant line up at 100 Queen Street. When retailers experience difficult trading conditions, location is paramount and this is a building that keeps on delivering”.

Tony McElroy, Tesco Head of Communications in Scotland said:  “We are always looking for new opportunities to serve customers; and customers tell us they really value the convenience of our Tesco Express stores in handy Glasgow City Centre locations. Only last month an economic report showed Tesco was contributing over £234m per year to the Glasgow economy and a new store on Queen Street will continue to add to this.”

FG Burnett Managing Director, Richard Noble added “We are very pleased to have secured Tesco as the tenant for Unit 4 of the scheme. We now have only one unit remaining, located on Ingram Street. Interest in this development has been really healthy given the quality of the units and the development’s location close to Royal Exchange Square, Buchanan Street.”
