Branching out in Ballater

Ballater had a difficult start to 2016 with significant flooding devastating large parts of the town centre, especially affecting the shops and businesses at the South end of Bridge Street, followed by long established occupier McEwens of Perth ceasing to trade.
However the storm has passed and a new day has dawned with established Scottish retailer Wilkies, opening in the former McEwens of Perth store which includes both the Station Square and the Bridge Street shops. Wilkies has made a long term commitment to the town taking a 10 year lease for the 3,853sq.ft. The store opened on Saturday 30th July.
Wilkies Managing Director Karen Forret comments:
“We are delighted to have opened our 13th store in Ballater, bringing an exciting mix of ladies and mens fashion & footwear, homeware and linens. Ballater may have had a difficult start to 2016 but we are confident in the future of the town and delighted to be contributing to reinvigorating the town centre with our store opening.”
