PC issued on Design & Build Project
FG Burnett’s Building Consultancy Department, acting as Employers Agent, has issued PC on a significant Design and Build Project. FG Burnett was acting on behalf of our client Worldwide Oilfield Machine UK Limited. CHAP Construction were engaged to construct a New Build High Bay Warehouse facility housing 2, 25 Tonne Cranes along with the refurbishment and alterations of existing parts of the premises to provide office, toilet and canteen facilities.
Following purchase of the site which was negotiated by our Industrial Agency team the Building Consultancy Department was instructed to deliver the new premises and refurbish part of the existing premises. The project was carried out in 3 stages and involved the demolition of part of the warehouse premises on the site, the creation of a link ramp between the existing premises and new site and finally the refurbishment and new build.
Initially, FG Burnett obtained a Demolition Warrant as well as Planning Consent for the partial demolition and creation of the link ramp which were tendered separately and completed ahead of the main contract works. FG Burnett also secured Planning Consent for the new High Bay Warehouse undertaking significant negotiations with both the Planning Authority and Network Rail.
Following preparations of the Employers Requirements and tender pack, several contractors were invited to tender on a Design and Build basis. The project was then awarded to CHAP Construction who completed the required works in a 32 week build period.
The client Worldwide Oilfield Machine Ltd are now completing the final installation of their equipment prior to taking full occupation of the premises.
