Taking on the Banchory Beast Race!

Staff at FG Burnett in Aberdeen are in for a beasting but hope their collective pain will benefit the Wooden Spoon charity.
A team of four will take part in the Prime Four Banchory Beast Challenge next month (27 Sept) where they will tackle a 10k race over rough terrain, dirt tracks and forest and attempt to clamber over 30 mega obstacles.
Thick mud, 12ft high wooden walls, shoulder deep bog water, barbed wire and icy loch water are just some of the challenges awaiting Stuart Fyvie, Graeme Millar, Stephanie Walker and Derek Richardson.
But the colleagues hope to raise £1000 for the Wooden Spoon which is the nominated charity of the Albyn Place commercial property business.
The Wooden Spoon is a rugby focussed charity which supports disadvantaged children and young people across the UK. In Scotland the charity is backed by the SRU and with former Scotland captain Gavin Hastings in the role of honorary president, it raises around £150,000 each year to support Scottish initiatives.
FG Burnett associate, Stuart Fyvie, said: “It’s madness but it’s for a good cause and we are committed to supporting the Wooden Spoon which performs a lot of good work across Scotland. It will be a test of our physical toughness and will power but we will push, pull and drag each other until we make it across the finishing line.”
